2020 Group Philosophy:
The 2020 Group approach is a balanced systems approach integrating systems thinking with balanced perspectives in learning and growth, internal processes, customer/patient focus and a healthy financial bottom line.
Each hospital and community is unique. While there is no “one-size fits all”, the 2020 Group has a balanced system approach that often begins with a 2020 Snapshot. The 2020 Snapshot is unique to your organization and community; it includes the board survey, staff survey, market potential, initial demographics, services assessment, profitability model, and unique next best steps in an integrated report.
It is a Baldrige Framework adaptation which focuses on the following:
Leadership: (Board and CEO) learning and growth, satisfaction, benchmarking for hiring executives, utilizing key accountabilities and boundaries as well as effective oversight systems for non-profits
Strategic Planning: initiatives in care, technology, facilities, and finances with strategy mapping for a balance scorecard of learning and growth, internal processes, customer perspective and financial impact
Focus on Staff: (mid-management, department heads, and frontline staff) culture, team and satisfaction, goal buy-in, process improvement, and feedback loops with surveys, CEO and Board
Focus on Patients, Customers, and Communities: Community needs assessments, customer survey and development of the 2020 Health Home Model of patient care
The 2020 approach utilizes strategy mapping which moves goals into action steps uniquely designed to fit the needs of each unique hospital. The resulting hospital strategy map will be both a timeline and guide for leaders to utilize in breaking down the larger action steps into sub-steps and sub-goals in each of the balanced perspectives.
